Identity and Communication
Can You Hear Me Now?
Incorporating crypto into gaming has some interesting issues to examine and we want to respect player's privacy as well as provide them a safe and effective method of in-game communication to truly create a multiplayer experience.
So, with that in mind, we've decided to allow players the choice to remain anonymous or provide limited marking details to further facilitate the multiplayer concept. This will be handled in a few different ways.
Player Identity
Address Only
Players will have the option to leave their unRevealed character as just their wallet address. This means that while in-game the only identifiable information other players (AND US!) can see is your public wallet address.
This ensures a player's total anonymity in and out of the game.
Character Name
Players can add a character name when they enter the game. This name can be anything (that our filters don't reject) a player chooses - and we will actively encourage users to never user their real names if they choose to name their character.
Character names cannot be edited. If a player chooses to remove the name from their character - their character will no longer have a name or the ability to create a new one for the duration of the game. This is to prevent player abuse and harassment.
Players will have the option to report character's names that they think break the unRevealed ToS in an effort to help us improve the quality of the unRevealed ecosystem.
Social Media Handle
The only method of tying any player to a more public arena would be if the player chooses to add their own social media handle to their character. Some players may choose to do this for marketing, streaming, or any other reason they think of.
Like character names, social media handles cannot be edited. If a player chooses to remove their social media handle from their character - their character will no longer have a social media handle or the ability to create a new one for the duration of the game. This is to prevent spamming and unsolicited marketing efforts.
Players will have the option to report character's social media handles that they think break the unRevealed ToS in an effort to help us improve the quality of the unRevealed ecosystem.
Our Promise
unRevealed will never require a player to share their real name or social media accounts with the unRevealed platform or the unRevealed community. Your privacy is one of our primary concerns - and we will strive to protect it at all costs.
We do, however, understand that the crossover between gaming and cryptocurrency are generally at opposite ends of the privacy spectrum. And while we will always protect a player's privacy - we will allow them to share a simple character name and/or a social media along with their character if they choose.
unRevealed will reserve the right to remove a character's name or social media handle if we deem it in violation of our ToS.
Communication
Text Chat
unRevealed will offer players a Server/House/Party in-game text chat system. This will allow players to communicate directly with one another while allowing unRevealed a method of filtering abusive and harassing behavior. It is not our goal to police our player's speech. It is, however, our responsibility to provide players a safe and pleasurable gaming experience.
We have gone back and forth about incorporating voice chat systems into unRevealed and ultimately decided against facilitating it ourselves. As a desktop game we understand that players have the options to coordinate via third party applications and we are unable to restrict that nor do we want to prevent players from communicating with each other.
We plan on offering players three separate text channels to use.
Server Chat
Players can use the Server Chat to communicate with other players currently sharing the same server. These messages will be visible to all players currently on the server - domestic and foreign.
House Chat
Players that have joined a House can use the House Chat to communicate with other players currently sharing the same server and who belong to the same House. These message will be visible to all players currently on the server belonging only to that House.
Party Chat
Players will have the ability to invite other players to a private Party Chat. These message will be visible to only the members of the party.
It's our mission to provide a safe and fun experience that leads us to a text-only chat system.
